Application security and business-logic context inside AI coding workflows What is CybeDefend?

Our verdict

CybeDefend's useful distinction is timing: security context reaches the coding agent while it is changing the code. That can complement a CI scanner, especially when the problem depends on a team's own business rules. Its published repository, seat and credit limits also make a small evaluation easier to scope.

I would test Free against a representative repository and known findings before paying. Compare the results, false positives and proposed fixes with your existing tools, and check what information remains in the business-logic graph. Team integrations and container scans may justify the larger plan, but the early-access label on business-logic analysis and the ongoing SOC 2 audit are limits to weigh. This is a documentation review, not a hands-on security verdict.

What is CybeDefend?

CybeDefend is an application-security platform for teams building software with AI coding agents. Its VibeDefend guard brings security rules and codebase-specific business logic into the coding session, while the broader platform scans code, dependencies, secrets, infrastructure and delivery pipelines. The aim is to catch problems before a pull request is opened, not only after code reaches CI.

VibeDefend and the security context

The vendor describes a knowledge graph built from repository conventions, file relationships and security findings. VibeDefend uses that context to give supported coding agents relevant business rules, scan changes and check potentially dangerous actions. The homepage demonstrates Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex workflows. These are vendor demonstrations, not tests performed for this review.

Scanning and remediation

CybeDefend combines static application security testing, software composition analysis, secret detection, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and licence scans. It also offers AI-assisted analysis and AutoFix. Paid

Paid Developer includes unlimited listed static scans, but its AI actions have a monthly credit allowance. Team adds container security, REST API access, Slack, Jira and Linear, role-based access and GRC/SIEM export. Scale adds AI-BOM, SBOM, policy tools and 90-day OWASP/CWE report retention. Business-logic security analysis is described as early access on Scale.

Plans and billing

The Free plan includes 10 static scans and 50 AI credits with no card or time limit. In the USD monthly view checked October 5, 2026, Developer costs $21 per month for three repositories, one seat and 100 monthly AI credits. Team costs $249 per month with 10 base repositories and five base seats, plus 1,500 monthly credits. Scale costs $699 per month with 25 base repositories and 15 base seats, plus 5,000 monthly credits. Annual base billing is $228 for Developer, $2,748 for Team and $7,680 for Scale, shown as $19, $229 and $640 per month equivalents.

Team can expand to 20 repositories and 10 seats; Scale to 50 repositories and 25 seats. Extra repositories cost $12 monthly and extra seats $24 monthly. Add-ons remain monthly even when the base plan is annual. Enterprise is quote-based and lists unlimited repositories, seats and credits, SSO/SAML, private deployment and an account manager. The pricing page also supports EUR, so these USD figures should not be silently reused as euro prices.

Security and data handling

The privacy policy says source code is cloned into an isolated scan container and deleted when the scan finishes. Findings, locations and repository metadata are retained; enabling AI features also retains a deletable business-logic graph containing paths and descriptions, rather than source code. The policy describes self-hosted Mistral-family inference and says submitted material is not used to train models. These are vendor policy statements, not an independent audit. SOC 2 Type II is under audit and must not be treated as a completed certification.

Who should evaluate it?

CybeDefend is most relevant to teams that need security feedback inside AI-assisted development, along with a shared view of repository findings. A small project can begin with Free, while teams needing containers, API integrations or administrative controls should compare Team against their existing stack. AI fixes and business-rule enforcement still need human review and tests; marketing demonstrations do not prove every vulnerability will be caught.

Editorial review by Deepika Pandey. This desk-research assessment uses official product, pricing, company and legal pages checked October 5, 2026. We did not connect a repository, run an exploit test, verify detection accuracy or independently audit privacy controls. Prices were read from the live USD monthly and annual controls, not copied from stale homepage schema.
