Our verdict

A quick free structural check for a small absolute-URL redirect map before live testing. Provisional 3.4/5 desk-research score, not a migration or SEO guarantee.

Redirect Map Checker: a static check before migration

Redirect Map Checker is a free public tool in the ToolboxKart library. It accepts a pasted map and highlights duplicate sources, self-redirects, chain links and loops. It is not the similarly named tool from Redirections.app, whose supported input and reporting differ.

Pairs in, structural findings out

The official page accepts one pair of absolute source and destination URLs per line, separated by a tab, comma or arrow. Metrics show valid rows and detected issues, with plain-text paths below. We inspected the client-side logic rather than testing a production migration. There is no verified file upload, robust quoted-CSV parser, corrected CSV export or deployment feature.

Read the counts carefully

Repeated sources are flagged, but the inspected code uses the first mapping when tracing relationships. That does not predict which rule a real server will use. A single cycle can appear from different starting

Read the counts carefully

Repeated sources are flagged, but the inspected code uses the first mapping when tracing relationships. That does not predict which rule a real server will use. A single cycle can appear from different starting URLs, so the loop count is not necessarily a count of distinct cycles. Review the reported paths rather than relying on a headline total.

No live HTTP verdict

The tool does not request the URLs, verify status codes, check destination pages or assess whether a target is the right SEO replacement. It does not simulate regex, wildcard or server-side rules. A clean structural result still needs live verification after the map is implemented.

Ashley Richmond’s editorial view

I’d use it as a small preliminary check, not as a migration sign-off. Its narrow scope is clear and the public interface is straightforward. Starter privacy and terms pages, an unconfigured contact page and limited parsing keep the provisional desk-research score at 3.4/5.

Desk-research disclosure: Official pages, launch preview and client-side code reviewed September 30, 2026. No production URLs, crawl, deployment or purchase. Any example result capture uses only vendor-preloaded fictional URLs, not user data. Company, founder and founding year remain blank. Privacy wording describes a starter package and hosting-dependent logs, not an independently audited production guarantee. No verified support email or contact form is available.

Who it's for

Best for

  • Developers and SEO teams reviewing small pasted redirect relationships before implementation.

Not ideal for

  • Live redirect QA
  • relative-path/regex rules
  • robust CSV imports or production-grade support assurances.

How we tested

Ashley Richmond desk research September 30, 2026. Exact PH listing, official tool page HTML/inline checker JavaScript, privacy/terms/about/contact read. No own URLs, input mutation, live crawl, deployment, account, upload or payment. Parent-approved worker local run used ONLY the vendor-preloaded example.com data for the second result metrics/issues capture; no custom/external URLs typed. The public checker auto-evaluates the preload in inline code; code inspection is not a full functional audit. The official favicon SVG gradient T mark is a real current brand asset, faithfully 512-PNG rendered and pixel-inspected. PH genuine two-row UI vendor capture used as hero/gallery1, padded hero 16:9, not our test. The second results/issues view was captured by the worker from the public page with only the preloaded example, not explainers. Identity blank; About Deepak Parmar editorial author and PH maker first-person context are not verified legal-company/founder proof; release year is not a founding year. Exact ToolboxKart, NOT Redirections.app. Static absolute-pair analysis, tab/comma/arrow; no destination/status/regex/server-rule validation. Source code uses new-URL normalization, first duplicate wins for tracing, can report rotated cycle paths; count is not unique loops; no CSV export feature. Starter privacy (Sep 9) has explicit package/configuration caveats; unreviewed terms; unconfigured contact with no email/form. No zero-data/production privacy guarantees; hosting logs possible. Free offer/no account verified from public sources; no awards/user stars. Key features

Pasted map input
Enter source and destination URL pairs one per line; the public page preloads fictional example.com routes. No CSV file import advertised for this exact tool.
Multiple separators
The official page supports tab, comma or -> between source and destination. The source code parses using the first separator branch; not a robust quoted-CSV/header parser claim.
Absolute URL parsing
Only absolute URLs are accepted according to the page; the source code uses the browser URL parser and counts failed lines. Relative paths are not supported, unlike other near-name tools.
Duplicate source detection
Flags repeated sources; the inspected code keeps the first mapping for tracing and reports duplicates. It does not choose the correct destination or actual server-rule precedence.
Self-redirect detection
Flags parsed source equals destination. Browser URL normalization applies; not raw-string validation of every server behavior.
Chain-link checks
Reports when a mapped destination is also a source pointing onwards; counts links, not verified full live HTTP journeys.
Loop traversal
Walks mapped relationships and reports a return to previously seen URLs. The inspected code can report rotated paths for one cycle, so do not read the loop count as a unique cycle count.
Metrics and issue panel
Displays valid map rows, duplicates, chain links, self-redirects, loops and plain-text issues. No export/corrected CSV/download or automatic deployment feature verified.

Key benefits

  • Review redirect-map structure before deployment.
  • Identify conflicting repeated sources without visiting staging URLs.
  • Spot avoidable chain links and self-redirects for manual review.
  • Keep static analysis separate from later live HTTP verification.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Free and no account advertised on the exact Product Hunt listing.
  • The official page plainly limits analysis to static pasted maps.
  • The public UI and client JavaScript expose metrics and calculation logic.
  • Supports common pair separators without a server crawl.

Cons

  • No HTTP status, live availability, destination relevance or server configuration checks.
  • Only absolute URLs; no verified quoted-CSV/header/file import, regex or wildcards.
  • Duplicate first-mapping behavior and rotated loop counts require careful interpretation.
  • Privacy/terms/contact are starter/unconfigured pages; no support email, independent security audit or guaranteed accuracy.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the checker from Redirections.app?
No. This listing is the ToolboxKart tool at toolboxkart.tech/seo/redirect-map-checker, identified by the exact PH page. Similar-name checkers have different input rules and features.
Does it crawl or verify redirects on my site?
No. Static map analysis does not request source/destination URLs, inspect HTTP status codes, check that a target exists, validate SEO replacement or reproduce actual server-rule order. Verify live HTTP separately.
What input does it accept?
Absolute source and destination URL pairs, one per line, separated by tab, comma or ->. No quoted-CSV/header parser or CSV file upload verified. Relative paths, regex and wildcards are not supported claims.
What do duplicate and loop counts mean?
Repeated sources are flagged; the inspected code uses the first mapping for tracing, not server precedence. A cycle may be reported from different starting URLs, so the loop count is not necessarily distinct cycles. Check the plain-text paths.
Is a clean report enough to deploy?
No. Zero findings cover only parsed structural checks, not correct destination, status, server rules, canonical signals or SEO outcomes. Review failed lines and test real redirects after implementation.
How private is it and how can I get support?
The official page and inspected client code calculate locally without a URL crawl. The starter privacy page says no accounts/database/ads tags/analytics tags in the package, but hosting logs depend on configuration. It is not independently audited. The contact page is a placeholder with no email/form, not usable verified support.
